Winning isn't everything – it's the only thing. That's a pretty well-known quote (attributed, by the way, to a US football coach by the name of Henry Russell “Red” Sanders).
And it does indeed have its merits. But for automotive industry legend Meyer Benjamin, whose Suzuki Jhb South dealership has just scooped the 2014 Suzuki Dealer of the Year award, it's only partly true.
For Meyer and his merry men (and women) winning this plaudit is really just affirmation of the stellar service that the dealership offers to its customers. And do you know what? Meyer attributes – and dedicates – the award to his customers. Customers who make Suzuki Jhb South what it is.
“We'd like to thank our clients and customers and acknowledge that they are key in us getting this award,” said a visibly delighted and humbled Meyer in the wake of the glittering ceremony.
“They are, after all, integral and utterly indispensable to our success.”
And indeed, Suzuki Jhb South is a decidedly people-centric enterprise. That's why it's branded an IPOP dealership – with the acronym standing for People Our Passion.
“This year we're going to have even more great deals to offer our customers,” says Meyer. “Just one vehicle we're excited about is the great little Suzuki Celerio, which replaces the Alto.”
